Meet the founder and head coach
Josselyn Alabi
Josselyn is an international athlete in Surf and SUP, an entrepreneur, and a firm believer in the transformative power of sports.
With over a decade of competing at the highest level, she realized that medals come at a certain point along the journey, but the experience and the path to them are what truly transform you. With that vision, she founded Surfing ESA, a company dedicated to creating safe, professional, and memorable aquatic experiences, raising the standard of water sports in El Salvador.

How much are surf lessons in El Salvador?
Private surf lessons with Surfing ESA start at $85 for one hour at the surf spot in La Libertad, with instructor, beach access and full gear included. A private lesson with round-trip transport from anywhere in El Salvador starts at $125. Group lessons for surf, SUP surf and SUP have their own group rate, and Salvadorans get special prices.
Can I rent a surfboard in El Salvador?
Yes. Surfing ESA rents surfboards in El Salvador: soft top boards for beginners and high-performance boards for progressing surfers. We also rent SUP boards with paddle, or the paddle only. Message us on WhatsApp to check availability.
What surf experiences do you offer in El Salvador?
Besides private and group surf lessons, we run monthly training programs, SUP surf sessions, and surf experiences for hotels, resorts and companies, from guest water programs to team building and surf events. Every experience is led by internationally experienced instructors with safety first.
Where do the lessons take place?
The location depends on your experience level, goals and the conditions of the day. We’ll start by getting to know you and understanding your skill level, then select the best location for your session. Once everything is confirmed, we’ll share all the details so you can simply show up and enjoy the water.
What should I bring?
We recommend wearing comfortable swimwear, along with a T-shirt or rashguard and board shorts for extra comfort and protection. This helps reduce skin irritation and gives you greater confidence and freedom of movement in the water. Don’t forget a towel, sunscreen and plenty of hydration.
Can I bring my own equipment?
Absolutely. Some of our services already include equipment, but you’re welcome to bring your own as long as it’s appropriate for your skill level, the activity and the goals of the session.
How do I book a lesson or experience?
It’s simple. Choose the sport or experience you’d like to book, select from the available times and complete your payment. Once payment is confirmed, your time slot and equipment are reserved exclusively for you.
How do I pay?
Once you’re ready to book, we’ll send you a secure payment link. We currently accept Visa and Mastercard.
Can I cancel my lesson or experience?
Yes. Because all sessions are reservation-based and require us to secure instructors and equipment in advance, the following cancellation policy applies:
4 days before: 75% refund
3 days before: 50% refund
2 days before: 25% refund
1 day before: Non-refundable
What happens if weather or water conditions are not suitable?
Your safety always comes first. If weather or water conditions are not suitable for the activity, the session will be rescheduled, not cancelled. Our team will contact you to coordinate a new date so you can enjoy the experience under the right conditions.
What ages can participate in lessons and experiences?
Age requirements vary depending on the sport, activity and level of risk involved. Children always participate one-on-one with an instructor for added safety and personalized guidance. We’ll recommend the most appropriate experience based on their age, ability and comfort level in the water.
